Paralysis, Take 3

Paralysis

In this dream, the Earth's a billowing rose;
You pluck its fat continents like petals
Tumbled in the solar breeze and you blow
Until the planet is a lifeless ball.
Somehow we live below the mantle bloom
Crushed together, in love and alone,
In the fiery spinning of our world's loom
And all creation is our rocky dome.
But when I wake I'm in paralysis
And hallucinate that black smoke and death
With the sincerity of the abyss
Can form a figure and speak without breath
"I am your creation; I cannot die,
I am a phantom and I am a lie."

The Fisher, Take 3

The Fisher

I wish to gulp in the sea with my fish
And my own damned sense of glad blasphemy.
Does it take more than a mad salty kiss,
To drown and forget your humanity?
Away with you lofty creatures of air
Who fly by the light of pale nebulas
Float over on flotsam of bashed hulks bare
Or by polyp and bulbous medusa.
Maelstrom, spin the fabric of my freedom,
When the boards crack, I'll let you grab my throat.
Sunken iceberg, be my palace in the ocean
Freeze as your tentacles suck on my boat
High albatross, you're no herald of peace,
These empty stores are where I'll make my feast!
